What's Happening in The Cake Shed in 2025
Plans and goals - let's write them down for some accountability!
Happy New Year!
How are you? Have you finished all the Christmas food? Are you all back to normal, like the festivities never even happened?
This post is hopefully going to explain a little of what I have planned for 2025. I’m writing it all down to keep myself accountable as I have a terrible habit of having all these ideas and then procrastinating over them until they die a slow death.
Recipes from The Cake Shed
2024 was great for me. I realised just how much I love writing recipes, and sharing them with people that truly want to bake them. For a few years I was wobbling around with my cake business. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do - did I want to make wedding cakes? did I want to blog? did I just want to give it all up?
Then I found this wonderful newsletter, and it got me hooked, all over again.
In 2025, I hope to expand the baking and recipe offering, and I will be making many more videos. I’m planning on doing a monthly Bake Along video. I will be sharing it over on my Patreon Account, along with the recipes I share here and other baking hints and tips.
I won’t be abandoning Substack, however, I will still be posting every week. But if you’re looking for a more visual way to follow me, rather than wordy, head over to my Patreon and see what I’ll be offering over there.
The Cake Shed
At the moment The Cake Shed is closed. It’s been up and running for 11 months and needs a little bit of a glow up. It’s going to get a paint job, a new sign, and some general tarting up for the 2025 season.
I will, of course, continue to bring you all along on The Cake Shed journey, both on here, on Patreon and over on my Instagram Account.
It’s genuinely one of the most fun things I’ve ever done in my cake business and it can only get better.
The Business of Cake Making Podcast
The podcast will remain a foundation of what I do in my Cake Business. Every week I get to chat to my cake bestie, along with a lot of wonderful guests - why would I give that up?
My co-host, Sammie, an I have recently launched a Patreon membership for the Podcast. We have been releasing new weekly episodes for over 4 years and have never made a penny from it. And whist we love doing it, we figured it was about time we practice what we preach and start to make a business out of it.
We will also be launching some Merch which we think will be so much fun to design.
I need you to keep me accountable!
So that’s it - a quick run down of my 2025.
If I stray and start making wedding cakes again, please come for me, because that’s not where this business of mine should be heading!
I don’t have the stomach for that kind of stress anymore. I’m happy baking delicious cakes and sharing the recipes with you all so you can go and enjoy them as well!
